TRICO was selected as the design-builder for a new 35,000 sq. ft. starch processing, packing and warehouse facility located in Moses Lake. The project scope included site work, building construction and equipment installation. The building design was concurrent with the process equipment engineering and procurement which presented multiple challenges to assure compatibility. Time was running short when Smith Frozen Foods and TRICO got together to discuss this project and it's challenges. Complicated by the renovation of a mid-1950's building correcting structural issues, the facility needed to be upgraded to current USDA standards by the next processing season. One of this project's unique challenges was limited access to the facility and a large scope of work. TRICO's innovative project delivery approach enabled multiple work activities to be performed concurrently.
