2026 Women in Construction Week is wrapping up, but the work of leveling up and building strong continues every day.
We were proud to attend the AGC of Washington’s 3rd Annual Celebration of Women in Construction yesterday in support of the women shaping the future of our industry. A sold out room, incredible energy, and a shared commitment to learning and supporting one another made for a truly inspiring evening. Thank you to AGC Northern District, NAWIC Pacific NW Region, Dawson Construction, RAM Construction, Wrecking Ball Demolition, Andrea Janzen of Ambition Theory, and the panelists for a great event.
Here are a few of the takeaways our group shared:
Audrey Miller | Project Administrator
“This event is always a highlight for me. I genuinely look forward to it every year. I get to work alongside these women every day, whether they’re in the office, out in the field, our trade partners, architects, and owner teams. The evening is a great chance to pause and reflect on the hard work that goes into successful projects and strong working relationships. The panelists and keynote speaker really captured that spirit.”
Nate Wolfe | CEO & Principal
“I was struck by the statistics shared about women on construction teams. It makes total sense. Seeing quantitative positive data on improvements in safety, cleanliness, organization, and overall jobsite feel was eye-opening. A project with those qualities will run better, be better cared for, and ultimately perform better. Why wouldn’t any team want that?
It also made me reflect on what the women at TRICO bring to our teams every day. They create a more collaborative environment, break down old “macho” barriers, and make it easier for people to ask questions and bring ideas to the table. They elevate the attitude of those around them and help shift the culture away from outdated bravados so we can focus on doing great work together.
I sincerely appreciate everything the women at TRICO do to make us better: to challenge, to connect, to streamline, and to help us truly Build Beyond the Building.”
Margaret Simpson | Director of HR
“Andrea Janzen of Ambition Theory led a meaningful discussion on transformational vs. transactional leadership and the impact transformational leadership can have on an organization. Hearing the panelists bring those concepts to life through their own experiences made it real and sparked reflection on how we show up and lead.
Another theme that really stood out was the power of curiosity both in growing your career and in supporting others. I also appreciated Andrea’s simple but memorable distinction between mentorship and sponsorship: mentors talk to you; sponsors talk about you. That idea stuck with me and challenged me to think about how I can be a more intentional advocate for others.”
Madalyn Heil | Project Engineer
“One takeaway that stood out was the statistics shared about the impact of having women on a field team. It was a strong reminder of how much women contribute to jobsite culture and performance.”
To the women of TRICO and across the industry, thank you for the impact you make day in and day out. Thank you for showing up with grit, curiosity, empathy, and an all-in mindset. You bring teams together, improve how we work across roles, and help create job sites that are safer, more organized, and better supported. We’re grateful to you this week and every week.
