City of Mount Vernon Public Works Maintenance Shop Canopy Enclosure and Dry Flood Proofing
This project converted an existing 40' x 60' clear-span steel truss Maintenance Shop into an enclosed, more functional facility for the City of Mount Vernon.
The work included PEMB additions to enclose the structure, installation of CMU/Framing infill of three walls for flood-proof foundation, and two flood-proof garage door openings. To improve stability during high water events, micropiles were installed to help anchor the building.
Together, these enhancements help safeguard City assets, reduce flood-related impacts, and provide Public Works staff with a dependable facility that offers better protection from the elements and a more practical space to support daily operations.
