Skagit Regional Health Family Birth Center Renovations
Project Specifications

The Family Birth Center at Skagit Regional Health underwent a comprehensive renovation to modernize all 21 labor, delivery, and postpartum suites while maintaining uninterrupted maternity care throughout construction. Serving more than 100 births each month, the Birth Center plays a vital role in supporting women’s health and family centered care across Skagit County and Northwest Washington.
Delivered through a carefully sequenced, phased hospital renovation approach, two private maternity suites were renovated at a time to ensure labor and delivery services remained fully operational. This strategic construction planning allowed families to continue receiving high quality care in a safe, active hospital environment.
Each suite was reconfigured with new cabinetry, improved layouts, and a more open, flexible design that enhances patient comfort, clinical efficiency, and caregiver workflow. Updated furnishings promote connection and family presence, while integrated technology strengthens access to specialized neonatal expertise and coordinated emergency response. The result is a modernized Family Birth Center designed to support both compassionate care and advanced maternity services for families and staff.
